The Signorelli Co., a developer based in The Woodlands, launched a new recreational properties division this month.

The company hired Terry Munoz as vice president to head the division, which will develop RV resorts complete with rentable cabins, camping sections and playgrounds. Prior to joining Signorelli, Munoz was regional manager for Equity LifeStyle Properties, an owner and operator of manufactured home communities, RV resorts and campgrounds.

Signorelli’s first such RV resort will be The Retreat at Lake Houston. Munoz anticipates breaking ground on the 40-acre resort by the second quarter of 2019, with construction finishing by the fourth quarter of 2019 or first quarter of 2020.

The cabins will likely be built by a manufacturer, Munoz said. They will range in size from about 200 to 400 square feet and fit about four to six people. Cabins will have living spaces, restrooms, full kitchens, air conditioning, cable TV and WiFi. Some will have a loft area.

“It’s not roughing it by any means,” Munoz said. He expects the cabins will rent for about $125 a night.

The grounds will also have full hookups for RVs. He didn’t have an estimate for construction costs yet or a general contractor picked out.

In August, Signorelli broke ground on its new 21.5-acre apartment project on the west side of Valley Ranch Town Center, a 240-acre mixed-use development in New Caney. The Pointe at Valley Ranch Town Center is one of six planned multifamily developments within Valley Ranch, Signorelli’s 1,400-acre master-planned community.

In April, Signorelli announced plans to build a new subdivision near Conroe called Granger Pines, which will cover 450 acres and include more than 1,300 single-family homes.
