Systems Administrator I

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Troubleshoot a variety of technical issues by running diagnostics, troubleshooting, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Manage Active Directory (on-premises) and Office 365 Admin Center (Azure AD, OneDrive, Exchange, Teams).
  • Responsible for software and account management, asset management and general day-to-day help desk requests.
  • Accountable for interpreting, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems of the computer and telephone systems including network, email, applications, computer hardware, and hosted VoIP phones, mobile and office equipment for both onsite and remote employees.
  • Assist with all the daily prioritization, escalation, and assignment of all service desk requests.
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support, as needed
  • Certification: ITILv4 - Foundation is required within 6 months
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-5 years of helpdesk, desktop support and system administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge in TCP/IP networking hardware, protocols, and LAN configuration, knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies and security architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk / desktop support best practices, including knowledge of security, single sign on, multifactor authentication, storage, data protection.
  • Experience with Online SharePoint, VMware ESXi, QNAP, Group Policy, scripting, automation tools, and patch management is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work through to completion. Ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Demonstrates ability and motivation to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with customers and recurring user problems .
  • Follow up with customers as needed to ensure any problems are resolved.
  • Ability to cope with high levels of stress and to handle a heavy workload.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs. as needed.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
